Sakon Malee is an artist from Isan who came to pursue artistic discipline in Bangkok. He is able to self-discover the singularity in his creation of visual pieces most uniquely. He envisioned the Isan native narrative of moving to and settling down in the city for job and life aspirations, yet despite once again having to return to their hometown, find themselves bringing back with them the city way of living, altering the Isan society.
When the Isan lifestyle is reimagined as a contemporary painting, Malee's creations convey the joy, brilliance, and heart-warming vivaciousness of colors that glitter like a natural phenomena, sparkling with life and sprinkling drops of livelihood onto the grounds of urbanites and urbanity; filling the room with echoes of Isan rhythm and music, for an Isan native to recognize an Isan tone, to identify with another Isan native like oneself, to be immersed in the Isan-esque ambience and atmosphere. This creates the welcoming air of familiarity, an undeniable bond of family; an offer of warmth in urbanity where Isan natives are drawn to one another, to people sharing the same traditions and birthplace.
The colorful smudges and brushstrokes painting the Isan native tradition in Malee's contemporary pieces reflect the subtle and nuanced individuality of an artist, illustrated in the expressive underlying notion of his homeland: the Isan of Sakon. Negative spaces are composed alongside painted ones similar to the modern Thai lifestyle that adopts and disposes of traditions, both old and new, ceaselessly and invariably - so much so that the collective memory falters away little by little, such that novel rhythms, remembrances, and routes are formed, disconnecting the otherwise definitive lines with the movement of impassioned colors, demanding the viewer to scrutinizingly seek for the assurance of a familiar vision, like how the reminiscing of the past does not bring about its present tangibility. What's left is only the palpable feeling and knowing of something that once was from devouring Malee's contemporary paintings with one's senses a fulfilling happiness that is only a mere recollection overlaying the seeking of the past never to remain and never to be found again.

Born in 1982, Gulached Khaochaimaha is a Thai visual artist whose journey began with a bachelor's degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Burapha University. He later pursued a master’s degree in Applied Art Education at the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University. Upon completing his studies,Gulached committed himself to a full-time career as a professional artist.
His early works, created using 2D mixed media with oil paints, explored themes of "hope", acting as a quiet yet powerful response to personal struggles and emotional hardship. Over time, his artistic style evolved into a more fantastical visual language, filled with beauty and intricate detail.
Gulached's more recent works portray harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, often through the lens of young female figures rendered as ethereal goddesses. These figures are gracefully integrated into lush environments that blend elements such as plants, animals, the earth, sky, wind, and sea. His paintings evoke a dreamlike serenity, reflecting both imagination and reverence for the natural world.
Technically, Gulached merges oil and acrylic paints with gold leaf, creating layered, luminous surfaces that enhance the mythical quality of his imagery. He continues to experiment with techniques and visual storytelling, committed to refining a style that is distinctly his own.
His work has been exhibited in numerous prestigious showcases, including the 56th and 57th National Art Exhibitions, solidifying his place in the contemporary Thai art scene.
